Could be magnificent.

For once, there is no spin, no slick angle, no ego in this public art installation…it is just honest.

Collaborating artists and graphic designers, Justy Phillips and James Newitt, spent a year gathering these raw, poignant thoughts from the people of Hobart, the state capital of Tasmania.  With the help of (uncredited) sponsorship, they replaced the traditionally frenetic advertisements of billboards around the city with these simple messages…fragments and histories from all corners of the city’s population. 1. I remember seeing this project published a year or so ago and it immediately became one of my favorite installation works. The boards are moving, clever, and jarring; I love the irony of the medium.
